Colonel Juan Bautista Medina Mateo was born in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on February 1st, 1968. He joined the National Army as a Cadet Candidate, in the Infantry branch, on the 9th of January of the year 1989, at the Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Batalla de Las Carreras”, Dominican Republic, where he obtained the rank of Second Lieutenant, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Military Science of the National Army, in 1992.

He has been assigned to the following units and positions:
